Joash Tan Ah ChuanACII, AMII, FCILA, FIFAA
Joash has over 32 years' experience working as a loss adjuster. He started his loss adjusting career with and international loss adjuster, spending 17 years there before moving to Mestari. He has extensive experience in a wide range of commercial claims and risk related matters. He specialises in loss adjusting assignments involving CAR/EAR, IAR Machinery Breakdown, and Liability related risks including those related to power generation, steel industry and oil & gas. Joash is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters and Fellow of the International Federation of Adjusting Association. He was Chairman of the Association of Malaysian Loss Adjusters for year 2006-2009.
Datuk Salman Ahmad
Datuk Salman Ahmad is the former Malaysian diplomat who has served in various capacities for more than 35 years. He was the ambassador of Malaysia to Czech Republic and to the Federal Republic of Germany; and the high commisioner to Brunei Darussalam and to Australia. Prior to the ambassadorial appointments he held various positions at several Malaysian embassies and high commissions overseas, including in New Delhi, India; Tokyo, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand and became the first consul general of Malaysia in Davao City, the Philippines. After retirement he served briefly as a senior fellow at the Global Movement of the Moderates Foundation (GMMF) before taking the appointment as the director general of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR) where he served until November 2016.
Datuk Christopher Wan Soo Kee
Datuk Christopher Wan Soo Kee is a former senior police officer in the Royal Malaysia Police and retired from the force since January, 2008. He joined the Police service in 1969 as a Probationary Inspector and after serving the community and country for 39 years, he retired with the rank of Commissioner of Police. During his tenure of service, he served in various postings as an Assistnant Director of Management Federal Headquaters, Head Special Branch, Kuala Lumpur, Chief Police Officer of MelakaAfter his retirement from the Royal Malaysia Police, Datuk Christopher was appointed as a Member of the Election Commision of Malaysia (ECM) in 22 August, 2008 by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, until 08 January,2017.
Lee Lay Choo
Lee Lay Choo read law in University of Sydney, Australia and graduated with Bachelor of Laws in 1987. She was subsequently called to the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia in 1988 as Barrister and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1992. She also holds a Master of Laws from University Kebangsaan Malaysia obtained in 2001. She joined the Malaysian Judicial and Legal Service in January 1989 with her first posting as a Senior Assistant Registrar at the High Court of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. Between 1990 to 1996, she served as a Magistrate at various Magistrate Courts across Malaysia. She first joined the Attorney General’s Chambers in 1997 and was made the first resident Deputy Public Prosecutor based with the High Court of Malaya in Muar, Johor, Malaysia. Shortly thereafter, she was posted as the legal adviser to the Ministry of Health in Malaysia (from 1998 to 1999 and again from 2005 to 2008). She also served as a Senior Federal Counsel in the Privatization Unit of Advisory Division and as Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Appeals Unit of the Prosecution Division at the Attorney General’s Chambers from 2001 to 2005. She was also the legal adviser to the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry in Malaysia from 2008 to 2009. Other positions which she held during her law career in the civil service was Deputy Commissioner Law Revision and Reform at the Attorney General’s Chambers (2009 to 2013) and Director General of the Judicial and Legal Training Institute at the Prime Minister’s Office (2013 to 2015). Her last appointment before her retirement was as the Senior Federal Counsel of the Attorney General’s Chambers (2015 to 2016). She is currently listed as the panel arbitrator and adjudicator for the Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre of Arbitration.
Chris Phen Yee S'ng
Chris is a holder Master of Science( Information System) from University of Melbourne and Master of Professional Accounting from Monash University. Upon returning from Australia, he joined Mestari in handling wide range of losses such as property losses, burglary, fidelity guarantee, consequantial losses and etc. With his background of IT and accounting, he has special interest in business interruption losses. He is currently an affiliate member of AICLA, Cert CILA holder, and Senior Associate of ANZIIF.
